My father’s name is Alejandro Saborío Villegas; he was born in San Ramón, Alajuela , Costa Rica in 1936. When he was 20 years old he graduated as a school teacher and decides to learn English by himself, so he start to read books using the dictionary and he bought a tape recorder to listen English classes as a device to help him learn, he started university at 23, working during the morning and afternoon in a private school in San José, and attending English classes at the university from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. He couldn’t finish his career because of economical reasons. In 1965 he started teaching English at the Palmares high school for one year and then he went to Naranjo for 3 more years, then he came to San Ramón, his own city, and continue teaching in this high school until he retired in 1986. He has continued learning English by reading books and learning new vocabulary, his last book is “The dream of my father” from Barack Obama.
He has been married to my mother since 1970, from this marriage there are five seedlings, four daughters and one son, four of them are graduated as professionals from the University of Costa Rica (UCR).
His favorite hobby is reading (his favorite book is Don Quixote), and been at home, he also enjoys good cooking; he dislikes been at meetings and cigarette smoke. The best achievement for him in his life has been the success of his seedlings.
He is got a lot of faith in God, and the holy bible is the rule of his life.
And just for the record, he has been an excellent father.
